Editorial policy

  • Research and drafts are prepared with AI assistance. Sources we could not open are labelled, and are never the only basis for a grade or a ranking.
  • Every page is checked by our editorial team before publication. We do not use outside expert reviewers and do not claim to.
  • We rely on firm terms, regulators and independent records. Trustpilot alone, coupon sites and firm marketing are not evidence.
  • Rules and prices are rechecked monthly. Corrections are dated on the page.
  • Firms can reply to what we publish. A reply changes a page only when it comes with evidence.

Who writes the pages

Prop Firm Gauge is written by its editorial team under the brand name. We do not use invented authors, personas or stock photos of people.

Research and drafts are prepared with AI assistance. Every number, rule and date is checked against the source we cite, and anything we cannot source is cut.

Some sources we could not open: a firm site that blocks automated reads, or a page seen only in search results. Those are labelled “search snippet”, “page not opened” or “blocked” next to the claim, and they are never the only basis for a grade or a ranking. A claim that has no source we can show you does not go on the page.

How pages are checked

Pages that help you decide which challenge to buy (reviews, best-of lists, comparisons and payout files) are checked by our editorial team before they are published. The check covers three things: every rule, price and number matches its source and date; risks are stated plainly; and nothing reads as investment advice.

We do not have an outside expert, licensed financial adviser or professional trader reviewing pages, and no page claims one. Our pages describe firms’ terms and public evidence; they are not advice on whether to trade.

Sources we use

We rely on:

  • firm terms of service, rulebooks and FAQs, quoted with the date we read them and archived, because they change often;
  • payout reports published by firms, always labelled as self-reported;
  • regulators: CFTC, NFA BASIC, FCA warning list, FINMA, CONSOB, CNMV, FSMA, ASIC and IOSCO I-SCAN;
  • on-chain explorers for payouts made in crypto;
  • industry news outlets such as Finance Magnates and Leaprate, as secondary sources.

We do not accept these as proof on their own:

  • Trustpilot ratings;
  • affiliate coupon sites;
  • firm marketing pages;
  • Discord or social screenshots without a source.

Some firm websites block automated access. When we could read a rule only through an official mirror or a search result, we label it “via mirror” or “via search snippet”.

Updates and rechecks

Every rule, price and payout cap shows the date we checked it. We recheck rules and prices every month. Pages show the date they were last updated. Details are on the methodology page.

Corrections

If you spot an error, tell us through the contact page and include a source. If the source holds up, we correct the page and update its date. Corrections that change a number, a grade or a ranking are noted on the page itself, not made silently.

Right of reply for firms

Firms we cover can write to us about anything we publish. We read every reply. If the firm sends evidence that changes a fact, we correct it. If the firm disagrees but sends no evidence, we may note that the firm disputes the point. Firms do not see pages before they are published and cannot approve them.

Conflicts of interest

We may earn a commission when readers buy through our links. That conflict is real, so we limit it:

  • rankings are fixed by our methodology before any link is added;
  • commission is not a ranking criterion;
  • firms cannot pay for reviews, rankings or grades;
  • we do not earn from firms we have chosen to exclude.
